Steamed Cassava Cake

Good morning everybody ! let's start your day with a cup of tea and steamed cassava cakes .




This is a  traditional kueh in Indonesia. They are sweet  and chewy .


Ingredients :

800 g cassava
200 g castor sugar
200 ml coconut milk
2 tbsp flour
pinch of salt
water for boiling

method :

  1. Peel cassava and clean the cassava . Make sure to remove the wooden steam at the center of the starchy root . Then cut into the small cube . 
  2. Heat up the water in wok or big pot enough for a 5"
  3. Used a food processor to mix the grated cassava , coconut milk , sugar , flour  and pinch of salt until well mixed , about 30 - 45 seconds .
  4. Pour the mixture into a square pan , level the top of the mixture with the base of a spoon . 
  5. Steam the cassava mixture for about 30 to 40 minutes on medium heat . Remove the pan from the steaming tray when it done . let it cool completely before cutting .
